The Dea Quartet

The Dea Quartet is a glamorous all female group formed in 1999 whilst at Trinity College of Music. After pursuing individual studies at various institutes the group reformed in 2006, and now enjoy a busy schedule of recitals, session and corporate work.

With various members having studied at The Royal Academy of Music, The Royal College of Music and Cambridge University, they have amassed an impressive array of chamber music experience. They have performed in venues such as, the Wigmore Hall, St James Palace and the Foreign office and have taken part in music festivals including Braunschweig Music Festival, the Hampton Court Palace Festival and Wolfsburg Contemporary Music Festival.

The Dea Quartet are regularly invited to perform at high profile events and members have recently played for the royal families of Norway, Great Britain and Qatar as well as playing for Elton John in New York. Members of the quartet have received coaching from world-renowned quartets such as the Amadeus, The Fitzwilliam, The Chilingirian, The Alberni, The Maggini and the Wihan Quartets. The players have travelled extensively in Britain and abroad, with tours to Europe, the USA, Central America, China, The Middle East and the Caribbean and have worked for SAGA and Swan Hellenic cruise companies.

The Dea Quartet has an extensive range of repertoire from the classical works of Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven to more contemporary Bartok and Shostakovich. On a lighter note, the quartet plays stylish and fun arrangements of jazz, pop and show tunes as well as lighter classical and romantic music. The repertoire is constantly being updated with recent additions as diverse as Bollywood film tunes and operetta.
