Rosie Tompsett

Rosie started her musical career at the age of four, when she took up the violin. She was performing from an early age and has gone on to play concerti with a variety of orchestras, including a performance of Mozart’s Concerto in A major in St John’s, Smith Square.
Attending Junior Trinity College of Music from 1999, Rosie went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music and graduated in 2006 with a BMus degree. While at the Academy she had the privilege to study violin with Richard Deakin, and has received chamber music coaching from Norbert Brainin, Robert Cohen and Howard Davis, amongst others.
Rosie has been a leader and member of many orchestras, and has recently performed with Sinfonia Cymru, National Musician’s Symphony Orchestra, New Philharmonic Orchestra and Sarum Chamber Orchestra. She has played under the baton of many eminent conductors, including Sir Colin Davis, Alexander Lazarev and Sir Charles Mackerras
Rosie has toured extensively in Europe and has also had the good
fortune to work in New York, Qatar and Central America. Chamber
music has always played an important role in Rosie’s life and with
various ensembles she has had the chance to play in prestigious
London venues such as the Wigmore Hall, the Purcell Room and St
James Palace.
Rosie’s musical career has been diverse, with performances varying
from Baroque improvisation at the Wigmore Hall to jazz festivals and
the Elton John Symphony Orchestra. Rosie is enjoying living and
working in London, playing and teaching the violin.
